Born on August 2, 1972, Brad Allen Ottis is a retired defensive end who formerly played in the National Football League. The Rams selected him to join their team in the second round of the NFL Draft in 1994. Both the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals had teams for him to play on. Ottis was a member of the Wayne State College football team at the same time when professional football players Byron Chamberlain, Brett Salisbury, and Damon Thomas (American football) played for the school.

Following his career in the National Football League, Ottis went to the Sioux City Bandits. Arguably, Brad Ottis was the most dominant defensive football player ever to don the Wayne State University jersey. Additionally, he was selected to participate in the Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic on Christmas Day and participated in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, in January of 1994. Both of these events took place in the United States. During his sophomore year (1991), Ottis had a total of minus 75 yards on the ground thanks to his 40 tackles and nine quarterback sacks. In 1992, Ottis had 57 tackles and 17 quarterback sacks, which resulted in a loss of 132 yards.

Ottis ended his senior year with 82 tackles, 14 quarterback sacks for a loss of 124 yards, and 27 tackles for loss for a total of 173 yards in 1993. This was accomplished even though the other team double-teamed Ottis. During the 1993 football season, Ottis served as the defensive team captain for the Omaha World All-Nebraska NCAA Division II Football Team. During the 1994 National Football League draft, the Los Angeles Rams were the ones to choose Ottis for their team. During his first year in the NFL, he participated in 13 games. After that, the Rams relocated to St. Louis, and Ottis played for the team during that season. Ottis played for the Arizona Cardinals in 1996 and contributed 24 tackles while starting one game. He remained with the Cardinals for the whole of the 2000 season until being let go before the start of the 2001 campaign.
