The actor has been active in Hollywood for a long time and has a career filled with numerous classic parts.

He was born on May 16 in the lovely hillside industrial village of Boonton, New Jersey, to parents who were first-generation Italian immigrants. This Blue Collar enclave produced various goods, from margarine to Melmac tableware. Peter was the first grandchild born into the Scorese clan and the first grandson taken into the Onorati family. Until he was in the fifth grade, he spent his childhood getting into mischief at the Catholic school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Eventually, the young man was expelled from the School St. School. Peter labored hard to become an athlete and joined the low-achievers and clowns in his class to endear himself to his new coworkers. He saw the need for social and physical development in himself and set out to fulfill both.

Additional opportunities for socializing were required for the “Hill Kid” from School St. School when he attended the seventh and eighth grades at the John Hill School. Peter had to be able to get along with the kids from the “Flats” section of town, so he worked very hard during the summers at his father’s construction company to be able to afford two sets of clothing: sharkskin and Italian knit to wear with the “Greasers” from the Hill, and madras with Levis to wear with the “Collegiate Rah Rah’s” from the Flats.

Both sets of clothing were necessary for Peter to fit in. Peter, who was still short for his age, had outstanding success in sports and citizenship when he was a student at Boonton High School. In addition to being chosen President of the Student Government, he was honored with All County accolades in football and wrestling. He was a star on the football field when he was attending Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, which is also the location of the Little League World Series. Peter broke around five records at Lycoming, but only one is still in place since the competition improved so much after he departed. He earned his degree with a major in business administration and graduated with it.

After completing his studies, Peter entered into a Free Agent pact with the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League. There, he and his college best buddy, now a judge on the Federal Appeals Court, made it to the last round before being eliminated and sent back home. Peter put his hopes of playing football professionally on indefinite hold when he accepted a position in the Export Division of Ford Motor Company. He also enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at Fairleigh Dickinson University and began working as an assistant coach for the university’s football team. He took the challenge posed by his fiancée, an old infatuation from his boyhood who was working for McCall’s magazines, and enrolled in an improv comedy class.

Peter lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Jeanette, and is blessed with his sons Sebastiano (Sonny), Francesco (Frank) and his wife Kristen, Giancarlo (Charlie), and his wife, Sylvia. However, Peter strongly desires to travel back to the east coast, at least for a short period each year. He and Jeanette have three sons: Sebastiano (Sonny), Francesco (Frank), and Giancarlo (Charlie).

Peter used to spend his weekends going to New York City to play with a theatre company known as the Port Authority Theatre Ensemble (Pate). In this location, he also helped establish a comedy act known as The Kippermans, which included Hasidic Siamese Twins who played the guitar in collaboration with Gary Richman. Peter continued to work late nights in New York, and at the same time, he submitted some of his research to be published in Advertising Age.

This resulted in several employment offers in and around New York City. But Peter wanted to continue working at McCall’s; nevertheless, his supervisor decided that she couldn’t afford to boost his compensation comparable with the other offers he was receiving, so she created a climate in which he opted to quit the company. Peter decided to take her advice and sign up for a crash course in commercial production taught by Bob Collier after he removed the ice pack from his face and gave it some thought. After just two weeks, he was cast in his first national commercial, and after around two years, he became a member of the cast of Kate and Allie for the last season. Ms. Collins made the best possible decision when she and Peter tied the knot in June 1988.

In 1987, he participated in the production of Talk Radio at the Public Theatre and became a member of Actor’s Equity. Peter and Jeanette relocated to Los Angeles, and once they settled there, Peter continued to work full-time in New York City. Peter received a call-back for the role of Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas in New York City while he was two days away from the birth of his first kid in Los Angeles. In March of 1989, he was awarded the position and welcomed his first son, Sebastiano.

Upon his arrival in Hollywood, Peter was instantly placed in prominent parts in highly praised dramas. He has developed main characters as “Good Guys” and “Bad Guys” for T.V… movies that have been shown on A.B.C…., C.B.S…., U.S.A…., SHOWTIME, and HBO with equal success. Throughout his career, he has directed over 40 full-length motion pictures, some of the most notable of which include Goodfellas, Postcards From the Edge, Firebirds, Camp Nowhere, and Rocket Man. He has also directed special events like Tales From the Crypt and Outer Limits, and the HBO World Premiere features Shelter, Disappearing Acts, and Dancing in September.

The most recent television roles that Peter has played include recurring parts on This Is Us and Station 19, as well as notable appearances on The Rookie, Mom, and Twisted Twin. Peter was a series regular on S.W.A.T. for the first two seasons until the show became episodic. At the Falcon Theatre, Peter made his comeback to the stage in the premiere of the play Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex & Sex, which was written by George Furth, winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, as well as The Iceman Cometh, which starred Al Pacino. In addition, he is the voice of Warhawk in the animated series The Justice League and has developed several characters for the television shows Teen Titans and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
