Charles Oakley is a former professional basketball player from Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. Oakley was a member of the Panthers for a combined total of four seasons. His career collegiate totals were 2,379 points scored, 1,642 rebounds grabbed, and 94 assists distributed. The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum acknowledged his accomplishments by inducting him the same year (2016).

Oakley, then 44 years old, was said to be working on a return to the NBA in the year 2007. He said that Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, and New York were interested in signing him, but he also stated that he would “not back cheap.” On February 8, 2017, Oakley was engaged in a fight inside Madison Square Garden.
