Jocelyn Lemieux

Jocelyn Jean-Marc Lemieux is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player born on November 18, 1967. He played 597 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with six clubs throughout thirteen seasons before concluding his career with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the International Hockey League (IHL).

During the 1986 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers picked defender Brian Leetch as the ninth overall choice. The St. Louis Blues then used that pick to select forward Jocelyn Lemieux. He is the brother of Claude Lemieux, who won the Stanley Cup a record four times and played in almost 600 games in the National Hockey League. Despite this, he was only with the Blues for 76 games throughout two seasons.

They sent Mario Lemieux and Darrell May to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Sergio Momesso and Vincent Riendeau before the 1988–1989 ice hockey season. The Blues were able to profit from such a sale. While Momesso contributed 220 games for the Blues and Riendeau had three solid seasons for the Canadiens, Lemieux only appeared in 35 games.

In all, Lemieux played the game until 1998, when he retired with the team known as the Phoenix Coyotes. He helped the Chicago Blackhawks go to the second and third rounds of the playoffs twice. He was a good player, but he could have met the expectations of being selected in the top ten. His ability to fight was his greatest strength. Other famous players, including Scott Young, Craig Janney, Tom Fitzgerald, Adam Graves, and Teppo Numminen, were selected after Mario Lemieux in the 1986 Draft. These five players were all set in the first thirty picks of the draft.

When Jim Paek signed his first agreement to play professionally in hockey, his father advised him to complete his studies first. After making history by being the first player of Korean heritage to win the Stanley Cup in 1991, he was reminded of this fact again. Even after his son was given the position of head coach for South Korea’s ice hockey team and up to his death in 2014, he continued to say it.

The Paeks would go on to become a hockey family and produce a lawyer and a doctor from their large family of four children. Watching “Hockey Night in Canada” as a family soon became a tradition everyone looked forward to. Paek’s parents ensured he kept in touch with his Korean roots even though he was raised in Canada. “My parents always spoke Korean at home,” he said. “I never learned the language.” “That Korean way of thinking and culture is something we were born with.”

Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins is putting up stats comparable to those of Igor Shesterkin in 2021-22 and even exceeding them. However, Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders has an influence on his club comparable to Shesterkin’s in 2021-22. When the general managers of the NHL are filling out their votes for the Vezina Trophy, which the goaltender for the Blueshirts won the previous season, they should be sure to consider this.

Even though Ullmark had played in 46 games with seven more to go for the Mighty B’s, he had a save % off. Nine hundred thirty-eight heading into the weekend would have tied the record Tim Thomas set in 2010-11 for goaltenders playing at least 50 games in a season for the NHL. Thomas set the record in 2010-11. Compared to Shesterkin’s 2.07 goals-against average during the 2021-22 season, when he also came in third place in the vote for the Hart Trophy, the league-leading goals-against average of 1.88 is a significant improvement.

They won For All and used Jocelyn’s life experiences as part of its mentoring and coaching community. This community provides advice to players who are at varying phases of their athletic careers. Won For All was founded by athletes, for athletes. The mission of Won For All is to expand and monetize the athlete brand inside the game as well as outside of it, so increasing potential and reducing the transitional obstacles that players from all sports face.

Jocelyn will be the first to acknowledge that his transition from world-class athlete to finding a life beyond hockey that is satisfying and gratifying was not an easy one. Still, he will also be the first to confess it was necessary. Despite this, he stayed loyal to his nature and remade himself as an entrepreneur. Currently, he works in the consumer goods business as a commercial executive. In addition, Jocelyn works as an analyst for RDS, which is owned by TSN Bell Media and is the official partner of the French-language sports broadcasting network for Hockey Canada, which focuses on the Montreal Canadiens.
