The news that a famous couple is divorcing might come as a complete surprise to their legion of devoted followers, even though some celebrity marriages do last a lifetime. Some famous people can resolve their disputes civilly, and most of them try to guard their privacy. However, feelings may often become rather intense after the dissolution of a marriage.

On the television show 7th Heaven, Stephen Collins portrayed the role of Pastor Eric Camden for many seasons. Fans were moved by his passionate portrayal of the character of a pastor and loving father of seven children, which is why many people who watched the program were taken aback when it became public knowledge that Collins had acknowledged doing horrific things on camera.

Throughout their careers, many famous people have been engaged in controversial situations. And although some people have been able to reenter public life successfully after surviving a controversy, others have been forced to withdraw from the spotlight permanently. When Stephen Collins and Faye Grant announced in 2012 that they would divorce after almost 30 years, they married for nearly that long.

When the news was out, Collins said that he and Grant “would go through this process in a way that honors our family.” Grant also made a similar promise. Additionally, Collins had positive things to say about actor V then. “She has been my closest friend and a caring mother throughout our time together.”

Because of this, the upsetting charges were brought to public attention. At the time, a representative for the New York Police Department said that there were “at least three victims.” During that period, the “nature of the investigation” was “inappropriate sexual misconduct with minors.”
