Dolores Hicks, later known as Dolores Hart, O.S.B., is an American Benedictine nun who was once an actress. She was born on October 20, 1938. After making her debut in the film industry with Elvis Presley in Loving You (1957), she starred in ten films over the following five years. Some of these films include Wild Is the Wind (1957), King Creole (1958), and Where the Boys Are (1960).

While working on the movie Fly With Me, she became good friends with Karl Malden, who also had a role in the film. When Malden and his wife Mona wanted to go out, Dolores would care for their children so the Maidens could go out. This is something that Malden spoke about in his book, When Do I Start? She quickly grew close with the Maldens’ children and was treated almost exactly like a part of the family.
