In the same year, Allan was selected to play the role of Bubba Higgins in an already renowned comedy series. However, once Allan was cast in the role, the series reached a new level, and Allan became a celebrity. He was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category that recognizes the best young actor to appear in a guest role in a comedy or drama series. Allan decided to forego acting opportunities elsewhere so that he could devote his full attention to the series in the years that followed.

Even though he did not pursue any additional acting opportunities, he did participate in the game show “The $10,000 Pyramid” as a celebrity participant. He did so for five episodes of the critically praised program, which resulted in his gaining even more notoriety. In 1987 and 1989, he appeared in an episode of “The New Hollywood Squares,” he was also a participant in the documentary “Circus of the Stars.” He had other appearances in other programs as well.

Allan dropped out of the entertainment scene at the beginning of the 1990s and only appeared in a small part of the television movie “Journey of the Heart.” However, five years later, he made his comeback with another small amount, this time as Nicky’s Dad in the television movie “Double Teamed,” and the same year also portrayed Tony in the family drama film “More Than Puppy Love.” After that, he starred in the drama movie “Shimmer” (2006).

The following year, in 2008, he made a notable appearance in the drama film “All Roads Lead Home.” His last known acting credits occurred in 2013 when he featured in two horror films: “House of Forbidden Secrets,” which starred Lew Temple, Dyanne Thorne, and George Hardy, and “House of the Witchdoctor,” in which he co-starred alongside Bill Moseley and Leslie Easterbrook. Both of these films were released in the United States. Since then, it would seem that Allan has left the world of acting behind him.

Kayser was honored with entry into the Missouri Walk of Fame at the Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival that takes place every year in Marshfield, Missouri, in 2022. Vicki Lawrence, who previously played the feisty and wisecracking Thelma “Mama” Harper on The Carol Burnett episode, returned to the role she had played in this episode to play the show’s namesake character, “Mama.”

The Carol Burnett program is where Lawrence got her start in the entertainment industry, and the success of that program helped propel her to greater prominence when she joined the cast of Mama’s Family many years later. Following the cancellation of Mama’s Family, Lawrence went on to star in several other comedies, including Hannah Montana, where she played the recurrent character of “Mamaw” Stewart. Lawrence has maintained employment far into the 2020s, appearing in series such as Call Me Kat and The Loud House, which debuted in 2023.
