Alexander Michael Brightman is an actor and singer from the United States. He is most recognised for his role as Dewey Finn in the musical adaptation of School of Rock and as the titular character in Beetlejuice the Musical. Alex Brightman was born Alexander Michael Brightman on February 5, 1987, in Santa Clara, California, United States. He is an actor and writer who has appeared in Documentary Now! Brightman joined Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock musical in 2014, which is based on the 2003 film of the same name. Initially, Brightman took on roles that were supposed to be portrayed by children but were instead enacted by adults in the workshops.
Brightman was cast in the main part of Dewey, first in the show’s concert performances, and subsequently in the Broadway production, which was his first major role. On Broadway, Brightman played Dewey Finn at the Winter Garden Theatre. Brightman was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his work in this production.

It doesn’t bother me if there is the source material. I believe it’s useful, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for someone to duplicate something verbatim. I believe that adaptations by their very nature require a point of view, therefore doing the movie on stage would be pointless. So the first thing I did was make sure I had a character I could connect with.
My interpretation was that this is a man who has never been seen before, so I started there, and the humor flowed naturally from there. When I thought about it, Beetlejuice is invisible, and I’m sure many people have felt invisible at some point in their lives, including myself.
