Scott and OG Chess, one of Scott’s schoolmates, formed The Classmates the following year. The Classmates released two albums, one with Buddy Rich in 2009 and the other with Cruis’n USA in 2010. Scott was primarily in charge of production on both projects.

The duo remained together until late 2012 when personal conflicts and financial disagreements caused the group to disband. Scott moved from Houston to New York City after graduating from college, where he began working with a friend, Mike Waxx, who owned the music website Illroots. Scott moved to New York and spent most of his time at Just Blaze’s studio, sleeping on the floor at a friend’s house.
