He’s the fourth child of Galynn Patricia (Bnée Johnson) and Thomas Brady Strongly. His three elder sisters—Nancy, Julie, and Maureen—raised him in the Catholic faith.

His paternal grandfather was Irish while his maternal grandparents were German, Norwegian, Polish, and Swedish. Two of Brady’s great-great-grandparents on his father’s side, John and Bridget Brady, were Irish immigrants who emigrated to San Francisco prior to the American Civil War in order to escape the Great Famine.

Brady attended and graduated from Junipero Serra High in San Mateo in 1995. In high school, he was active on the football, basketball, and baseball fields. Pat Burrell, a rival from Bellarmine College Preparatory, was an opponent on the gridiron and in the batter’s box for him. Initially, Brady played for the Padres’ junior varsity team as a backup quarterback. Initially, Brady was ruled ineligible to play for the JV team, which was 0-8, and had not scored a touchdown all season.

After an injury to the team’s starting quarterback, Brady was thrust into the spotlight. He was put into the starting lineup for the varsity team during his junior year and stayed there until graduation. By his senior year, Brady was actively trying to get the attention of college recruiters. He sent out highlight reels to schools he was thinking about attending.

Brady was also a star baseball player in high school. He caught for the left side and had a lot of pop. MLB scouts took notice of his skills, and the Montreal Expos picked him in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft.

From 1995 through 1999, Brady was a football star for the University of Michigan. While future NFL quarterback teammate Brian Griese led the 1997 Michigan Wolverines to an undefeated season that featured a Rose Bowl triumph and a share of the national championship, he spent his first two years at Michigan as a backup quarterback.

Brady was raised a Roman Catholic, but he told The New York Times in 2015 that he is now more interested in spirituality than organized religion. In December 2006, Brady started dating Gisele Bündchen, a Brazilian fashion model. On February 26, 2009, Brady and Bündchen tied the knot in a tiny Catholic ceremony in Santa Monica, California. Benjamin Rein, their son, was born in December 2009, and Vivian Lake, their daughter, followed in December 2012.

As a family, Brady and his spouse and two children divide their time between New York and their hometown of Brookline. Together, they own numerous estates and enjoy spending summers in both New York’s Amenia and Montana’s Yellowstone Club. Brady has a friendly relationship with the former president, Donald Trump.

Brady’s wellness regimen includes transcendental meditation, yoga, an 80/20 diet (80 per cent alkaline and 20 per cent acidic), an early bedtime, regular exercise, and neuroplasticity training. His food restrictions include just about everything except for these: most fruits, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, coffee, Gatorade, white sugar, flour, gluten, dairy, soda, cereal, white rice, potatoes, and bread.

Brady then moved on to the National Football League, where he was selected by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. In his first season, he was the team’s backup quarterback and played in just one game.

As the team’s starting quarterback in 2001, Brady took over for an ailing Drew Bledsoe and guided the team to a division title. To dispel any doubts about Brady’s abilities, one need only look at the team’s record of 11 wins and 3 losses in the 14 games he started.

He was voted the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXVI, which his team won against the St. Louis Rams. Two years later, after guiding his team to victory in Super Bowl XXXVIII over the Carolina Panthers, Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time.

In 2004, with Brady at the helm, the team won Super Bowl XXXII, 24-21 over the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2005, Brady re-signed for another six years with the Patriots, and the following year, New England finished with a 12-4 record.

As a result of a knee injury, Brady missed the opening game of the 2008 season. Following extensive surgery and rehabilitation, he missed the entire season. Although many people thought Brady’s injury would end his career, he battled back to prove them wrong. He extended his deal with the team in 2010.

To go to Super Bowl XLVI in 2011, Brady put out an extraordinary effort. The Patriots played the New York Giants once again in the Super Bowl, the pinnacle of American football. Brady gained widespread attention after a nail-biting contest between the Patriots and the 49ers in December of 2012. Even though Brady led the Patriots back from a 28-point deficit in the fourth quarter, the 49ers still came out on top with a 41-34 victory.

Despite missing the first four games of the 2016 season, Brady helped the Patriots secure another Super Bowl appearance by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs. In the first-ever overtime game in NFL history, Brady guided the Patriots to a 34–28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. With this triumph, Brady made NFL history by becoming the first quarterback to win five Super Bowl rings.

Brady, at 40 years old and showing no signs of slowing down, led the Patriots to a 13-3 record last season by throwing for an NFL-record 4,577 yards. On March 20, 2020, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially welcomed Brady as their newest player.

Brady looked up to and was often likened to Joe Montana, the renowned quarterback featured in the 1980s film San Francisco 49, whom Brady frequently saw as a child. In high school, Brady was an all-star on the football and baseball teams. He had a chance to play professional baseball in 1995 when the Montreal Expos picked him, but he passed it up to play football for the University of Michigan instead.

Although he didn’t gain a starting role until his junior year, Tom Brady led Michigan to the Orange Bowl in 1999, earning him a reputation as a hard worker and astute player despite his lack of physical gifts. He was picked up by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the NFL draught in 2000 and spent his rookie year honing his strength and technique.

Brady became the Patriots’ starting quarterback when Drew Bledsoe was injured in the team’s second game of the 2001 season. He was not particularly remarkable, but he was reliable, making plays and committing a few mistakes. After starting Brady as a quarterback, the Patriots went 11-3 during the regular season and defeated the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, leading to Brady’s selection as the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Under Brady, the Patriots went 40-12 in his first three seasons as head coach, establishing themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL. The following year, riding the wave of success, the Patriots set a new record for consecutive wins with 21, surpassing the 18 set by the Miami Dolphins in 1972–1973. Brady and the Patriots won their third Super Bowl in four years, this time by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.

To earn NFL MVP honours in 2007, Brady led New England to the league’s first perfect regular season (16-0) and threw for 50 touchdowns (Brady’s longtime nemesis Peyton Manning broke the record in 2013). Unfortunately for the Patriots, they were beaten by the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII. During the opening game of the 2008 NFL season, Brady suffered a devastating knee injury that ultimately necessitated a surgical procedure at the end of the year.

Having led the Patriots to another postseason appearance, he went back to training the next year after being named to the Pro Bowl. In 2010, Brady topped the NFL with 36 touchdown passes, and the Patriots went 14-2, the best record in the league. Despite the Patriots’ upset in his debut postseason, he was elected league MVP for a second time and made history by becoming the first player to win the award unanimously.

While leading the Patriots to another Super Bowl loss for the Giants in February 2012, Brady was one of two quarterbacks to surpass Dan Marino’s record one-season yard (also disturbed by Manning in 2013) of 5,230 yards during the 2011 season. After the 2014 regular season, he led the team through its most recent hurdle, a lopsided AFC championship game loss to the Indianapolis Colts, which ultimately led to Brady’s record-breaking sixth Super Bowl victory.

While the Patriots did win the game, the victory was quickly overshadowed by the controversy that ensued as it was discovered that 11 of their 12-footboards had been significantly under-inflated during the game. There was an investigation by the NFL, but Brady orchestrated a fourth-quarter comeback that helped the Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24 and advance to the Super Bowl. For his 328 yards and four touchdowns, Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the third time.

In May 2015, the NFL suspended Brady for four games due to his involvement in the AFC championship game ball deflation and his refusal to fully cooperate with the league’s investigation into the matter. As part of their appeal, Brady and his legal team claimed that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had gone beyond the terms of the league’s CBA with the players’ union, a claim that was upheld by a US federal judge shortly before the start of the 2015 NFL season. A federal judge in the United States overturned the suspension. It seems that the occurrence galvanized Brady, as he led the Patriots to a perfect 10-0 start to the 2015 season and ultimately another division title for New England.

This year in the NFL, he threw for 4,770 yards and 36 touchdowns, but his team lost the AFC championship game against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. But the United States brought back its ban from the previous year during the off-season. the appeals court and received permission to use it for the first four games of the 2016 season. Brady led the Patriots to victory on December 4, 2011, setting a new NFL record for quarterback victories.

The Patriots went 14-1 and earned their third consecutive AFC East division crown. Brady set a Super Bowl record with 466 passing yards and two touchdowns, helping the Patriots come back from a 25-point third-quarter deficit in overtime to capture their fifth NFL championship in a row.

The Patriots won their 11th consecutive championship that year, despite starting the season 0-2. As the free agency period for NFL players opened in March 2020, Brady startled the sports world by signing a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and leaving the Patriots. The Buccaneers’ inaugural season was a smashing success, culminating in 11 victories and a playoff championship for Tampa Bay.
