American comedian, TV host, producer, and radio personality Steve Harvey has done everything in the entertainment industry. At the beginning of his career, Harvey was a stand-up comedian before he moved on to acting. Surprisingly, his first appearances on both television and movies occurred simultaneously. His breakout role came on his primary show, ‘The Steve Harvey Show,’ which ran from 1996 until 2002.

As a result of the show, he gained enormous fame and recognition. After the success of “Steve Harvey’s Funderdome,” more shows by Harvey followed, such as “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” “The Steve Talk Show,” “Family Feud,” “Little Big Shots,” and “Little Big Shots: Forever Young.” Harvey has received a total of 15 awards, including 5 Daytime Emmys and 14 NAACP Image Awards. Indeed, he is one of the most talented American performers of the last few decades.

Broderick Stephen Harvey was born to Jesse Harvey and Eloise Vera on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia.  The Harvey family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, when Steve was a young child.  After graduating from high school in 1974, he continued his education at Kent State University and West Virginia University, where he joined the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Before becoming a stand-up comedian, Steve Harvey worked as a mailman, a postal carrier, a carpet cleaner, and in the auto industry. As early as October 8, 1985, he performed stand-up comedy at Cleveland’s Hilarities Comedy Club. After winning a talent competition, Steve Harvey went on to host the music program “It Showtime at the Apollo,” and then he landed a starring role in the ABC sitcom “Me and the Boys.” His big break came in 1996 when he started hosting his flagship show, “The Steve Harvey Show,” which he did until 2002.

African Americans were the show’s biggest fans. Alongside his time spent on television, Harvey kept up his stand-up comedy routine. Several of his projects with other stand-up comics were compiled into a DVD film titled “The Original Kings of Comedy,” in which he also appears.

It turned out that he will be hosting the show as well as performing as a comic. The WB Network broadcast the series till 2005. After achieving success on TV and in the theatre, Harvey ventured into filmmaking in 2003. The films The Fighting Temptations and Racing Stripes both featured him that year (in a supporting role). At the midpoint of 2005, Harvey had made his mark as an actor, performer, book, and TV host.

In response to the success of his book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” he penned a sequel, “Think Like a Man,” which was released to theatres not long after the original. Back in 2008, he presided over a Disney Channel program called Disney Dreamers Academy, which encouraged young people to think about their futures and pursue their passions. Two years later, Harvey was the host of the hit game program Family Feud. Despite its low ratings at the start, the show rose to become the second most-watched daytime syndicated show. For the year 2010, Harvey also presided over Celebrity Family Feud.

Steve Harvey’s talk show, simply titled “Steve Harvey,” debuted a month after his last stand-up performance. A brand-new syndicated talk show called “Steve” premiered in November of 2016 and ran through the end of the year. With the new season, Harvey was given more freedom of speech.

Harvey’s influence extends far beyond the realms of film and television to include the medium of radio. His weekday morning radio show, simply titled “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” has been on the air since 2005.

Miss Universe has been held in Harvey for the past two years. He gave his final presentations in Las Vegas, the Philippines, and Las Vegas once more. Harvey incorrectly named Miss Colombia the winner of Miss Universe, instead of Miss Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach. Despite the initial confusion caused by Gutiérrez’s incorrect coronation, the situation was quickly rectified. When Steve Harvey’s flagship show, ‘The Steve Harvey Show,’ premiered in 1996, it was his big break.

Steve Harvey has been honoured with five Daytime Emmy Awards. Furthermore, he has won 14 NAACP Image Awards.

In 2011, he received the BET Humanitarian Award for his efforts in the community. He won the 39th Annual People’s Choice Award in the category of “Favorite New Talk Show Host” in 2013. The same year also saw the addition of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was recognized in the NAB Hall of Fame in 2014. After a year of service, the College of Arts and Sciences at Alabama State University awarded Harvey an honorary doctorate. So far in his life, Steve Harvey has tied the knot three times. He first wed Marcia Harvey, and the two of them had a boy and a girl who were identical twins. A second son was born to him through his marriage to Mary Shackelford.

Following his split from Shackelford, Harvey wed Marjorie Bridges in 2007. Bridges have three kids from a previous marriage. Both of them are parents to seven children, and they also have four grandchildren.

Harvey is devoted to his faith in Christ and seeks to serve God in all aspects of his life. Broderick Steven Harvey, better known as Steve Harvey, gained fame for his comedic observations and, later, his advice on how to improve one’s life.

Harvey’s parents and older siblings brought him up in Cleveland. He started out at Kent State University but left before completing his degree. He returned to Cleveland and immediately began applying for sales jobs. While working as an insurance salesman in 1985, he decided to pursue stand-up comedy after winning an amateur night contest at a local comedy club. Harvey spent the next few years touring the country, sharing his brand of observational humour based on his own life experiences, in as many clubs as he could. When the 1990s rolled around, he was a regular headliner at top comedy clubs in major cities everywhere, and he also appeared on television on shows like the Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search and HBO’s Def Comedy Jam.
