Luke Bryan was born to LeClaire Watkins and Tommy Bryan on July 17, 1976, in a little house in rural Leesburg, Georgia.  His dad ran a farm where they made peanut butter. Luke had an older sister named Kelly and an older brother named Chris.

When Luke reached 19, he was supposed to leave his high school behind and move to Nashville. His older brother Chris was murdered in a car accident, and this tragedy greatly affected his family. Bryan enrolled in Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, because he could not handle the prospect of leaving his family in such a precarious condition. He was a member of the fraternity Sigma Chi when he graduated from university. A graduate of the University of Phoenix’s Bachelor of Business Administration program, he entered the workforce in 1999. It was in 2007 that Bryan’s dad first encouraged him to follow his musical passion. Following his relocation to Nashville, Bryan found work in the publishing industry. The title track from Travis Tritt’s 2004 album My Honky Tonk History was composed for him.

Soon after arriving in Nashville, Bryan signed a recording contract with the label “Capitol Nashville.” During this time, he worked with Billy Currington on the track “Good Directions.” The song topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs list that year (2007).

Bryan’s debut track, “All My Friends Say,” is a collaboration with producer Jeff Stevens. The highest position the song ever reached on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart was number five. Bryan’s first studio album, titled “I’ll Stay Me,” featured the title track from his highly successful breakthrough single.

Bryan released an EP he co-wrote with his buddies on March 10, 2009, titled “Spring Break with All My Friends.” “Sorority Girls” and “Take My Drunk Ass Home” were the two brand new songs on the EP. Both “All My Friends Say” and “All My Friends Say” were performed acoustically as well. Do I, his fourth song off the EP, was released in May of 2009. The song was not only a huge success, but it also reached the top two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Bryan’s second album, titled “Doin’ My Thing,” was released in the fall of 2009. The CD features both his original song “Do I” and a rendition of “Apologize” by OneRepublic. After that, he recorded two songs that became huge hits on the country music charts: “Rain Is a Good Thing” and “Someone Else Calling You Baby.”

On February 26, 2010, Bryan released his second extended play (EP), titled “Spring Break 2…Hangover Edition,” which included the new songs “Wild Weekend,” “Cold Beer Drinker,” and “I’m Hungover.” The EP was called “Spring Break 2…Hangover Edition.” His second album, “It’s a Shore Thing,” came out on February 25, 2011—exactly one year after his debut album. New renditions of “In Love With the Girl,” “If You Ain’t Here to Party,” “Shore Thing,” and “Love in a College Town” may be found on the EP.

After releasing his third extended play (EP), Bryan released his seventh single, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” on March 14, 2011. Positioned at #4 on the country music charts and #22 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100,’ the song was a huge success. His third studio album, titled “Tailgates & Tanlines,” was released in August 2011. When it was released in September, the album shot straight to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the Top Country Albums chart.
