Donna Murphy is an American actress and vocalist who is best known for her work in musical theatre. She was born in Los Angeles, California. She was born in the city of New York. It is for her performances in Passion (1994–95) and The King and I (1996–97) that she has been nominated for five Tony Awards and has twice been awarded the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical: for her performance as Fosca in Passion (1994–95) and for her performance as Anna Leonowens in The King and I (1996–97).
