In Adrian Lyne’s 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction, nne Archer was nominated for an Academy Award®, a Golden Globe, and a British (BAFTA) Academy Award for her role as Michael Douglas’ sympathetic, tortured wife, “Beth Gallagher” (1987).

Her father, John Archer, was listening to The Shadow on the radio. On film, he was succeeded by Alec Baldwin, who also appeared in The Hunt for Red October (1990). Her ancestors are of German, English, Czech, and Scots-Irish descent. Archer studied theatre arts at Claremont College before making his film debut in The All-American Boy, opposite Jon Voight (1973).
