Alexander Ross Winter (born July 17, 1965) is an American filmmaker, writer, and actor of British descent. In the 1989 film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its sequels, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991) and Bill & Ted Face the Music (1992), he played the lazy Bill (2020). He’s also recognized for his roles as Marko in The Lost Boys (1987), co-writing, co-making, and acting in Freaked (1993), and directing documentaries in the 2010s.
Alex Winter began his career as a young actor on Broadway, co-starring in performances of ‘The King & I,’ ‘Peter Pan,’ and the Manhattan Theater Club’s American premiere of Simon Gray’s ‘Close of Play.’ He went on to star in several feature films after graduating from NYU film school, including Orion’s huge hit ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ and its sequel ‘Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey,’ the Warner Brothers smash.
